Markus Krug is a senior energy‑regulation professional with over two decades of experience at Austria’s regulator, E‑Control. Since 2018, he serves as Deputy Director Gas and Hydrogen, where works to advance the internal gas market, the development of regulatory approaches towards decarbonisation of the gas sector, and most recently on shaping policy on renewable gases and hydrogen. He is also a member of E‑Control’s crisis team, overseeing supply‑security strategies and emergency response measures. Markus also actively contributes to the work of the energy regulatory authorities at European level within ACER and CEER working groups.
