Alexandre Miguel Silva Santos is the Director-General of the Portuguese Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG).
He holds a degree in Economics from the Portuguese Catholic University and a Master's degree in Organizational Behaviour from the Higher Institute of Applied Psychology (ISPA). He also completed the Advanced Management Program at AESE Business School.
Prior to his current position, he served as Deputy Director-General of DGEG and as Member of the Board of Directors of the Portuguese Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) and Transtejo Soflusa.
Throughout his professional career, Alexandre Santos has held several leadership positions in both public and private sector organizations.He served as President of the Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators (MEDREG) and held responsibilities in organizations and companies such as OPART, the Innovation Support Fund (FAI), and Xerox Portugal. He began his professional career in commercial banking at Banco Nacional Ultramarino.
