Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission of Jordan (EMRC)
Eng. Mohammad Maayah is an Energy Affairs and Commissioner, CEM in the Energy & Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) since September 2024 and was chairman of the MEDREG’s Institutional Working Group from 2020 to 2024.
He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Kiev International University, Ukraine. He worked as an Electricity & Renewable Energy Director in other positions withing EMRC since its establishment. He worked as a monitoring Engineer and distribution energy section, as well as Head of the electricity regulatory commission before merging with other activities. His experience covers electrical and energy sectors from a restructuring point of view, regulation in different fields, pricing, power analysis, Renewable Energy Expert etc. He is a Member of the Jordan Engineers Association. He is also an active member of many Steering Committees related to different aspects of the energy and minerals sectors.
He was a counterpart of the EU project to develop and establish all regulatory documents for electricity such as standard licenses for generation, transmission and distribution in addition to performance standards codes for all activities of electricity and implementation of monitoring of the electricity sector during all time of the project from (April 2009- April 2009).
