Portugal’s Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE)
Ricardo Loureiro is a board member at ERSE – Portugal’s Energy Services Regulatory Authority, where he contributes to the regulation and oversight of the national energy sector. With over 15 years of experience across regulation, competition policy, and energy markets, he has held key roles in both the public and private sectors.
Before joining ERSE in 2022, he worked as an economist at the Portuguese Competition Authority and served as an adviser on energy policy to the Secretary of State for Energy in the Portuguese Government. Earlier in his career, he worked in energy trading and market analysis at REN and REN Trading, as well as in tax consulting at EY Portugal. Ricardo holds executive training in management from Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics and brings a strong analytical and policy background to energy market regulation and governance.
