Dr Guido Cervigni is Managing Director at DFC Economics, research affiliate at GREEN, the Institute for energy and environmental economics at Bocconi University, Milan, Italy and Senir Advisor at CERRE, Brussels, Belgium.

He is an economist and former regulator who provides qualitative and quantitative analyses on regulatory and competition-related issues, with a focus on energy markets. Guido has advised regulators, system operators, exchanges and businesses across Europe on a wide range of regulatory issues in energy markets, including market design, regulatory frameworks supporting low-carbon technologies, price regulation, contracts and asset evaluation. As a member of System Operation Expert Group advising the European Regulators' Group for Electricity and Gas (ERGEG), he has been involved in the development of the EU framework guidelines on System Operations; he was also a member of ACER’s expert group on capacity remuneration systems.

Guido is former Director at AF-Mercados, Spain and Director at LECG Consulting in London as well as Head of LECG’s Italian office. Prior to joining LECG, he was Head of Economic Analysis and Regulatory Affairs at Enel S.p.A, Head of Business Development in an energy trading company and Head of Market Development at the Italian Power Exchange. Guido started his career at the Italian Energy Regulatory Authority where he was Head of the Competition and Markets Division.

Guido holds a PhD in Economics from Bocconi University, Milan.
